Freddy Rubio

Freddy Rubio is a partner at Rubio Law Firm. He focuses his practice on the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, products liability and medical negligence. Freddy also represents Latino-owned businesses and his practice include criminal defense and immigration issues. He has been instrumental in assisting other lawyers who seek to understand the Hispanic culture and work with immigrant clients.

After working for many years with the United States Postal Service, Rubio earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Accounting. He worked with Latino-owned business and individuals to assist them with tax issues. Later he attended Cumberland Law School, where he co-founded the Hispanic-Interest Law Student Association (HILSA), was part of the National Trial Team and earned the Rasmussen Award for best advocate of the year. While still in law school and working as an assistant District Attorney for Montgomery County, Rubio successfully tried his first jury trial.

Upon graduation, Freddy worked with one of Birmingham’s premier plaintiffs law firms and on March of 2009 he founded the Rubio Law Firm, P.C. As a solo practitioner, he focuses his marketing to the Spanish-speaking community in Alabama. Freddy works hard to ensures that his Hispanic clients have the same access to justice as the community at large. Due to his experience working with immigrants in the civil litigation area, Freddy is regarded as a preeminent authority on the intersection of civil litigation and immigration issues.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Freddy has been in Alabama since 1991. He also spent three years in Pittsburgh, PA, which turned him into a Steelers fan. He has yet to declare an affiliation to either Alabama or Auburn! Freddy is married to Isabel, the co-founder and Executive Director of !HICA! – The Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama.

Leslie A. Wright

Leslie Wright

Leslie A. Wright is an associate at the Rubio Law Firm, where she focuses her practice on personal injury, workers compensation and family law. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Montevallo with a degree in Elementary Education. She then earned her Juris Doctor at Birmingham School of Law. While in law school, Leslie was an active member in the Trial Team and was also involved with Sigma Delta Kappa.

Leslie worked as a paralegal for six years in the practice areas of personal injury, domestic relations and workers’ compensation before becoming licensed to practice law. [mention your work with the case that went to the supreme court] She is active in the Birmingham Bar Association as a member of the Young Lawyers Section and as a member of the Solo/Small Firm Section where she serves as a member of the Board. Leslie is a volunteer attorney with the Birmingham Volunteer Lawyers Program and is an active member of the Entertainment Committee for the Birmingham Bar Association. Additionally, she is a member of the Alabama Association for Justice.

Leslie is an avid runner who enjoys creating meals with family and friends and traveling. She lives in Birmingham, Alabama.
